RI DEM ‘s Executive Climate Coordinating Committee (EC4) will be hosting its second Climate Justice Hour to continue conversations about creating climate justice for Rhode Islanders. Scheduled for next Monday evening in person, at the Southside Community Land Trust, residents are encouraged to attend to share their experiences and community priorities. The event will focus on questions such as “Do you feel that your community is disproportionately impacted by environmental burdens? Are there challenges in your community around health impacts from pollution?” and more. Spanish interpretation services will be available.

Chris Gaynor (Climate Justice Specialist with the RI Department of Environmental
Management) and Greg Ohadoma (Energy Justice Manager with the RI Office on Energy Resources) want to hear from community voices, organizers, and environmental justice advocates about the pressing climate change issues that have affected Rhode Island communities. Chris and Greg each hold newly created state positions that will help center justice in the state’s climate action planning.
