As Rhode Island invests in statewide actions to combat the climate crisis, residents experiencing the steepest barriers should be front and center. New England is warming faster than any other region in the country, and of all the New England states, Rhode Island is warming the fastest. This warming is caused by greenhouse gas emissions from the energy and industrial sectors that not only trap heat but also release toxic pollutions that impact the health of our communities.
In this discussion want to hear from you about the environmental impacts you’re already facing and your ideas for creating a more resilient cities. We’ll share information about what the state is doing to combat these impacts, the role of offshore wind and other clean energy technology, and ways to access economic opportunities and jobs in the growing clean energy sector. Lunch will be provided.
